If you live in the USA or in other country that uses dollar as currency, like Canada and Australia, you are used to prices as the following ones: $199, $2.99 and $37.90. That is also probably the case if you live in country that uses peso, since peso are also abbreviated with the dollar sign. Yet if you are from a country that has the euro as currency, you are used to 149 €, 5,98 €, 49,99 €. And it is also not that hard to see prices like £6.99, ¥789, R$188,80 , 299 руб and ₹897 worldwide.

What is all these prices have in common is the psychological pricing, a marketing trick employed very often in retail. Such expedient is already widespread throughout the globe for some years or decades and, for this reason, wherever you go, physically or through the internet, you will find lots of stores adopting the psychological pricing. The old trick creates five kinds of illusion to costumers. In other words, five different ways to lose money.

The Round Price movement claims that just-below prices like $199, 49,99 €, £6.99 and ¥789 should always be preceded by the corresponding round value, no matter which country you live in and no matter which currency you are using to buy things. We believe that consumers around the world should possess one more right: the right of not being misled by just-below prices.

To exemplify our proposal, let’s take the $199. It should be rewritten as ≈$200.00 (199.00) or similar expression. And how would be 49,99 € be rewritten? You can check by yourself in the Price Rounder mini, which is displayed at the right part of this website, or after this text — at the right for big screens, as those from desktops, and below for small screens, as those from mobile phones. Please select the currency € (Euro) and type a price like 49,99.

There is also a more elaborate version of Price Rounder, available for Android devices. Through a mobile phone, tablet or Android computer, you can download it and use it for free. We intend to build this application also for Apple (iOS) devices and to create more free tools, as you can see in the third menu from left to right: the Tools menu.

All our current and future tools are based on concepts explained in The Solution menu, the second from left to right. You don’t need to read the contents of this second menu in order to start using the tools. Nonetheless we suggest you to do so in case you want to understand the definitions we employ and to take full advantage of Price Rounder as an advanced user.

The Solution menu has more. Here you will also find out why is so important that the right of not being misled by just-below prices should be not only a moral right but also a legal one. Such improvement in the laws of your city, state or country will result in additional benefits for your pocket, for the society, for the environment and even for sellers and their businesses.

However, before being presented with the solution, you may want first to know more about the problem that made you lose thousands of dollars throughout your life, or equivalent in your currency. And it is not only you. The people you love and care for also had impressive losses. Worse than that. They are still paying more and getting less. The Problem menu, the first one from left to right, has more about the subject.

This initial page is unusually long — twice as the other pages — because of the description of the most important elements of this website. Among them is The Movement menu, the forth from left to right. There you can discover who we are, our mission, our vision and possible steps to achieve it. You will also see that The Round Price Movement is at its first infancy.

That means, if you want to help us, the moment is great, because your help would have a much larger impact. Contributions can be made in various ways. We describe some of them in this menu, but the human creativity is a marvelous gift and you may aid us in a manner we have not expected. Please leave a message or comment any page or post from this website.

The page of the four first menus are complemented by posts from the News menu, the fifth one. The sixth and last menu is a language selector, with two options, English and Portuguese. (If you are interested in translating the website to other language, please contact us).

Last but not least, there is a link at the bottom right corner of every page leading to the next one. Follow the standard sequence of subjects through the links to next page or be free to explore any link that appear inside a page text.

PS: For your convenience, this website has an automatic bookmark mechanism. You may stop the reading at any page and by the next time you visit us, this page will be displayed again for you. Besides, you can read this home page again at any time by clicking on Round Price title or on THE MISSING INFORMATION subtitle, on the top of the window.
